Pliocene : Coralline Crag, Italy, Rhodes. Allied to Turbo acinus of Brocchi and R. venus of d'Orbigny, both of which are Miocene species. Young or immature specimens of the present species agree in every particular with Philippi's description and figure of his i2. reticulata; but that name had been preengaged by Montagu for the next species.
