SPIXIANA 26 2 165-170 München, Ol. Juli 2003 ISSN 0341-8391 Contribution to the Oribatid Mite Fauna of Georgia. 1. New species of Poronota (Acari, Oribatida) Maka Murvanidze & Gerd Weigmann Murvanidze, M. & G. Weigmann (2003): Contribution to the Oribatid Mite Fauna of Georgia. 1. New species of Poronota (Acari, Oribatida). -Spixiana 26/2: 165-170 Two new species and one subspecies from Georgia, Parachiptcria gcorgica, spec. nov., Ceratozetes colchica, spec. nov., and Acrogahttnna longipluma adjarica, subspec. nov. are described. Some datas of Parachipteria georgica, spec. nov. and P. nkokti Berlese, 1883, as most related species, have been treated statistically. The combina-tion of main characters -body length, length of anterior notogastral setae and shape of border of pteromorphae -confirms two well separated species. Maka Murvanidze, Institute of Zoology of Georgian Academy of Sciences, Chav-chavadze av. 31, 380079 Tiblisi, Georgia Prof. Dr. Gerd Weigmann, Institute of Biology, Lab. Soil Zoology and Ecology, Free University Berlin, Grunewaldstr. 34, D-12165 Berlin Introduction Within an ecological research program in West Geor-gian subtropical region Adjara and in Hast Georgian Continental region of Gombori Mountain Range some new taxa of poronotid oribatid mites have been found. Acrogaliimnn Icvigipiluma adjarica, sub-spec. nov., Parachiptcria gcorgica, spec. nov., and Cera-tozetes colchica, spec. nov. have been compared with species of the genera each, which are recorded from the region as w^ell as from other origins. Because of the low value of each of the differenting characters in Parachipteria georgica, spec. nov., these are com-pared statistically with characters of Paracltiptcria nicolcti from the same regions. Location of types Types are deposited in the ci>llection of the Zoolog-ical Institute of Georgian Academy of Sciences in Tbilisi (ZIGAST) and in the collection of the coau-thor (GW). Acrogalumna longipluma adjarica, subspec. nov. Fig.l Diagnosis. With typical characters of Acrogalumna (without lamellae; male with centrodorsal pores on notogaster, females without). Interlamellar setae short. Sensillus long, setiform, with onh' 5-6 short setulae. The areae porosae Aa devided in two parts. A^ round, A, and /^^ longitudinal. Types.
