This paper comprises some notes and descriptions accumu-lated during a compilation of a definitive catalog of North American Tephritidae. Included are the descriptions of Meta-tcphritis fenestrate,, n. gen., n. sp.; the genus Mylogymnoca-rcna, n. gen., for Urellia apicata Thomas; and Gymnocarena hicolor, n. sp. Eutreta aurantiaca Doane is placed in the genus Xenochaeta; a first United States record for Acrotaenia test-udinea (Lw. ) is given; and the genera Gymnocarena, Oedica-renc, and Zonosemata are discussed.
