GROUND BEETLES COLLECTED FROM SEA SHORE DRIFTS 1 Andr Larochelle 2 Violent waves produce strings of debris on sandy beaches. Ground beetles may be very abundant there and may suggest overseas dispersal by air or water, or by both (Lindroth, 1963, pp. 56-61). From June 15 to July 21, 1971, I collected many Carabidae in sea-shore drifts along the St. Lawrence River in Saguenay County, Quebec.
