[Plates YL— XI.J The Australian Marine Annelides have not formed the subject of any special investigations, but scattered notices of Australian species are to be found in the works of Schmarda,^-Kinberg,f Baird,:]: and Quatrefages.§ Of the order to which the present paper is confined the last-named author enumerates and describes six Australian species including those described by Kinberg and Schmarda, and to those Dr. Baird adds five more from among the specimens in the collection of the British Museum.
