The lacertilian fauna of Costa Rica is reviewed on the basis ofcollections made by the author on four Costa Rican expeditions. The faunais discussed and listed. The following forms are described as new: Anolishumilis marsupialis, Anolis woodi attenuatus, Anolis biscutiger, Anolis aquaticus,Anolis achilles, Ameiva festiva occidentalis, Leiolopisma cherriei lampropholis,Mabuya brachypodus. Altogether seventy-nine species and subspecies aretreated. Each form is described and for the most part illustrated by photographs.
