USA ABSTRACT A new species of Hyla. allocated to the H. bistincta group, is de-scribed from the cloud forest of the Sierra de Juarez and the Sierra Mixe in northern Oaxaca. Mexico. These populations previously were referred to H. siopela Duellman, but they differ in features of external morphology, osteology, and larval morphology. The taxonomic status of H. hogertae Straughan and Wright is re-viewed, and this taxon is placed in the synonymy of//, crassa (Brocchi).
