Reeve, University of Kansas Abstract: The lizards of the genus Phrynosoma are treated monograph-ically. Fourteen species are recognized with a total of 27 forms (species and subspecies ) . Considerable information is given on taxonomic history, osteology, habits, and speciation. A scries of maps give a complete picture of the known distribution of each form. No new names are proposed, but one name, Phrynosoma platyrJiinos calidiarum, is revived.
